Joseph Docksey, Director of the Lamont School of Music from 1988 to 2011, passed away on December 9. Joe was one of the most significant directors in Lamont’s 99-year history. His unfailing commitment, from decades of service to the design of and transition to the Newman Center, left an indelible mark. He also earned his MA in trumpet performance from Lamont in 1974 and served as a professor here from 1977 to 2011.
